Welcome to the Department of Internal Audit & Compliance!
Efficient and future-oriented corporate management requires sustainable safeguarding of the company's success. By providing its services to UKB, the Department of Internal Audit & Compliance makes a valid contribution to this goal.
In its internal audit function, the Department supports the hospital´s Executive Board and its individual operational units with comprehensive audits and audit-related consulting services. Moreover, the Department assists the Executive Board with unbiased reporting in its controlling, managing, and steering activity.
In their compliance function, the Department and the appointed Compliance Officer are responsible for the implementation and further development of the Compliance Management System of the hospital. Hence, they support the Executive Board in ensuring that UKB´s Corporate Compliance Regulations are being adhered. Such regulations include legal procedures, internal policies, and ethical principles. The Department and the Compliance Officer are also the hospital´s contact for its anti-corruption program. Furthermore, following the German Supply Chain Risk Management Act (LieferkettensorgfaltspflichtenG – LkSG), the Executive Board of UKB has appointed the Department with a monitoring and reporting role on the LkSG risk management system (see the Policy Statement of the Executive Board).
