Protect the UKB from criminal acts and damaging behavior!
As a prominent healthcare institution, the UKB is aware of its responsibility for the common good. It is therefore of central importance to the UKB that laws, internal guidelines and principles of conduct are observed. We want to avoid any risks that could cast doubt on our integrity and damage our reputation. It is therefore important that we are made aware of compliance related misconduct.
In line with the EU Whistleblower Directive and its implementation through the German Whistleblower Protection Act (“HinweisgeberschutzG”), we implemented a Whistleblower Portal with a secure reporting form to supplement existing internal communication channels.
With the Whistleblower Portal, we offer all employees the opportunity to report violations of legal provisions and internal regulations. Your information is always subject to confidentiality within the framework of the legal provisions and - if desired - remains anonymous. All reports will be assessed thoroughly, cases of suspicion will be investigated and sanctions consistently applied if applicable. Your information helps to ensure the reliability and integrity of the UKB in the long term.
Please note:
We want to set standards, not only through competence and performance, but also through the way we act. This includes compliance with behavioral requirements, values and obligations, and legal requirements.
Perhaps you are aware of behaviors that might harm the UKB. However, you may be reluctant to share this information personally.
We want to effectively protect you as a whistleblower and provide you with a platform to submit tips. Each individual bears responsibility for preventing harm to the UKB.
What should be reported through the Whistleblower Portal?
Information concerning violations of legal obligations or UKB internal rules and regulations can be reported. Reports might also include references to human rights or environmental risks and violations of rights along our supply chain in the sense of the German Supply Chain Act (“LieferkettensorgfaltspflichtenG”).
Will my tip be treated confidentially?
Every tip is treated confidentially. The data entered in the Whistleblower Portal is sent to the Compliance Office in encrypted form and can only be read by the responsible employees of the Internal Audit & Compliance staff unit.
Can I submit my tip anonymously?
It is of course possible to submit a tip anonymously. However, this option should only be used in exceptional cases, as in this case we can neither ask relevant questions nor provide you with feedback on your tip.
Note: In principle, we are legally obligated to inform the accused persons that we have received a tip concerning their person as soon as this information no longer jeopardizes the follow-up of the tip. Your identity as a whistleblower will not be disclosed in this process - insofar as this is legally permissible.
Can I also attach files/attachments to my tip?
Yes, the Whistleblower Portal supports the upload of files.
Note: If you wish to submit the report anonymously, please note that files may contain hidden personal data.
